It has been a year since I started at Bournemouth University to study my last year of BA (Hons) Law and I am excited to announce a year later that I will be graduating with a 2:2 in the subject!
This year has presented a lot of challenges for me, I came down with Glandular Fever in June which affected one of my exams therefore I had to resit in August, whilst still suffering from my illness! Unfortunately the grading affected my grades overall however I am very happy with my results! I am now looking forward to my second graduation in November again.
I have recently been offered a place by my old lecturer from the University of Kent on a CILEX course which his own law school teaches. I have always sworn that he has been the best lecturer for me and I am very excited for my academic achievements over this next year seeing as I finished up with a first in Law when he taught me. Imagine if he taught me this final year?!
Moving forwards I am looking to study the practice of Employment Law along with Civil Litigation. Employment Law is definitely a passion of mine and I seem to get very good marks in it so I believe it is my calling, oh, I also gained a 2:1 in my dissertation: The Devil Can Keep His Prada: A Critical Analysis of Dress Code Policies in the Workplace Which Discriminate against Women and those with Religious Beliefs.
Due to the teaching standards and location of the CILEX course, I feel it would suit me better as an individual to pursue this path of becoming a Legal Executive. A bonus to this is that I must have three years qualifying experience to qualify so fingers crossed a firm takes me on! Another plus is that the CILEX course is only a couple of thousand compared to a ridiculous university fee for the GDL!! I believe I saw one in London which was £13,500, to which you do not get funding from student finance as it is technically not a postgraduate degree....yet in my view it should be as you need a degree in order to pursue this route.
I will be trying to get back into the works of blogging, I am sure you can understand why I have not been so active, fingers crossed my 2017 starts getting better!
